Makeup remover wipes can cause serious harm to the skin and lead to problems. A dermatologist explained what these wipes contain.

RBK-Ukraine reports on when it is best to use makeup remover wipes.

Causing redness and Irritation

Dermatologist Shari Lipner said that proper makeup removal is crucial for healthy and beautiful skin.

A good cleansing product is key in skincare, and using wipes can save time. The problem is that using wipes has become the norm instead of a backup for emergencies.

Experts warn that using wipes can exacerbate skin issues and harm the face.

While these wipes may be convenient, they are not suitable for removing makeup, especially stubborn makeup.

The doctor says that if you have very oily skin, using wipes can contribute to clogged pores and the appearance of acne.

For those with sensitive skin or skin prone to rosacea, wipes can leave irritating chemical residues.

'Stretching' skin

Some women wipe their faces so carelessly that they stretch their skin excessively. With such a daily routine, the skin will gradually begin to lose elasticity, and early wrinkles may appear.

Aggressive ingredients

Some wipes contain aggressive ingredients that can irritate the skin. Many wipes on the market contain chemicals that can irritate and damage the skin, such as phthalates, parabens, and fragrances.

Dermatologist Dr. Stephanie Kappel said that in addition, many of these wipes can strip the skin of its natural moisturizing factors, which can disrupt the barrier and excessively dehydrate the skin.

When wipes are appropriate

The doctor mentioned that such wipes are great for quick cleansing when a person is too tired to wash with water.

They are also useful in situations where makeup is hard to remove, such as when relaxing outdoors, exercising, traveling, or in other temporary conditions.
