Denmark is allocating $21 million for the reconstruction of Mykolaiv. The package from Denmark, in particular, includes projects in the agricultural sector aimed at demining agricultural land, providing cogeneration units, and reconstructing the dormitory of Mykolaiv State Agrarian University for fire safety.

Kubrakov reminded that in the spring of 2023, Denmark took over the patronage of Mykolaiv and Mykolaiv region. Since then, the country has already allocated $100 million for reconstruction.

These funds have already been used to purchase 44 units of special and construction equipment, 30 school and city buses, medical equipment, firefighting equipment, water towers and water supply equipment. Emergency repairs are underway at some parts of the power plant. Gas and electricity lines are being repaired and equipment is being installed.

Also, three neighborhoods in the city are being restored and shelters are being built in at least 9 schools.

Situation in Mykolaiv region

Part of Mykolaiv region was occupied by Russian invaders in the first weeks of the full-scale invasion. In the autumn of 2022, during a counteroffensive, the Armed Forces of Ukraine liberated the territories of Mykolaiv region.

However, Russians are now frequently shelling the region's frontline communities, including Ochakiv. For example, in Mykolaiv region, there were power outages in Ochakiv and Bashtanka district due to shelling. Gas supplies were also cut off to 32 consumers in one of the villages in the region.
