Deceased general Moskalik oversaw Ukraine war monitoring for Putin

Lieutenant general Yaroslav Moskalik was responsible for monitoring the fighting in Ukraine and preparing materials for Russian president Vladimir Putin, reports BBC News.
Deputy chief of the main operational directorate of the general staff of the Russian armed forces Yaroslav Moskalik coordinated the work of the next shift of the combat control group.
It continuously monitored the situation in the combat zone in Ukraine, the Russian defense ministry said in a statement.
Moskalik, according to his obituary, also prepared reports for the minister of defense and Putin.
The obituary was signed by, among others, the new defense minister Andrey Belousov and chief of the general staff Valery Gerasimov.
The 59-year-old general died on the spot after a car explosion near his home in Moscow.
On Sunday, April 27, the Basmanny Court arrested a suspect, 42-year-old Ignat Kuzin, who had a residence permit in Ukraine.
The FSB claims that Kuzin blew up the car with an improvised explosive device. The components were allegedly taken from a cache set up by Ukrainian special services in the Moscow region.
Russian general death in Moscow region
On Friday, April 25, Russian media reported that the car of a Russian general exploded in Balashikha near Moscow. Later it became known that 59-year-old Yaroslav Moskalik, a high-ranking general in the Russian general staff, was killed.
Russian security forces officially confirmed Moskalik's death in the Moscow region and opened a criminal case. The investigative committee stated that it had classified the car explosion as a murder.
