Deadly strike hits bus near Kherson: Details of Russian attack

On the morning of August 9, a Russian drone attacked a passenger bus in the suburbs of Kherson. Among the injured were men and women aged from 23 to 83, several of them in intensive care, Head of the Kherson Regional Military Administration, Oleksandr Prokudin, reports.
"It was an ordinary morning that the Russians turned into a tragedy. People were on their way to take care of their business. Suddenly, an explosion. Russian terrorists deliberately struck a bus in the suburbs of Kherson with a drone," the Head of the Regional Military Administration noted.
Prokudin said that due to the enemy attack, two men, approximately 50 and 70 years old, were killed. The relevant services are now working to identify the victims.
"My condolences to the families and loved ones. Sixteen passengers were injured: 10 women and 6 men. The youngest is 23 years old, the oldest is 83," the Head of the Regional Military Administration reported.
According to Prokudin, one severely injured person was evacuated by an ambulance team to a neighboring region with an open traumatic brain injury and a head wound.
Four other passengers sustained severe injuries to vital organs and are now in intensive care. Three of them underwent surgery, and their condition was stabilized, while doctors are still fighting for the life of one.
Another four victims were hospitalized in moderate condition with bone fractures and shrapnel wounds.
Seven people were released for outpatient treatment after receiving medical care. They suffered concussions and multiple non-penetrating shrapnel wounds.
Strike on bus
On the morning of August 9, Russian forces struck a bus in the suburbs of Kherson with drones. The strike killed two men and injured 16 others.
Among the injured were three law enforcement officers who came under repeated enemy strike. As RBC-Ukraine previously reported, when police officers attempted to remove the bodies of the dead from the bus, an FPV drone hit again.
Law enforcement officers had already shown the first minutes after the enemy's cynical strike earlier today.
