After 30 years, a person's facial skin changes, and the levels of important hyaluronic acid decrease. At this age, proper skin care becomes essential to protect against external factors.

What happens to the skin after 30 years

According to Ukrainian cosmetologist Daria Tishchenko, after the age of 30, the level of hyaluronic acid begins to decrease, leading to moisture loss and the appearance of the first wrinkles. Therefore, it’s crucial to focus on hydration and protection.

As people age, they may also notice dark spots on their skin caused by hyperpigmentation, commonly known as freckles or age spots. This occurs due to years of sun exposure, which stimulates cells to produce excess melanin rapidly.

Additionally, the production of oil in the body slows down, which can lead to changes in all skin types. Most individuals will notice that their skin becomes less oily than before.

Dermatologist Caroline Robinson noted that at 30, the skin's renewal system slows down, resulting in a dull appearance and decreased collagen production.

The tips of the nose may start to droop as the connective tissue supporting the nasal cartilage weakens.

How to care for the face

First, the cosmetologist recommends using products containing hyaluronic acid, amino acids, and polynucleotides to maintain hydration.

It’s also crucial not to neglect SPF for protection against ultraviolet rays.

In addition, treatments like mesotherapy and plasma therapy can be added to stimulate collagen production and improve skin condition. Regular superficial peels, microcurrent therapy, and botulinum therapy, as indicated, can also be beneficial.

Moisturizers soothe dry skin and can temporarily make wrinkles less noticeable. Many of them contain ingredients, such as glycerin, that help bind water to the skin. Exfoliating creams can improve the appearance of aging skin by removing dead skin cells that do not shed as quickly as they do in youth.

Alongside basic skincare products, Dr. Robinson recommends incorporating topical retinol (or peptide-based serums) to combat fine lines and improve skin elasticity.

It’s best to choose products with plant-derived ingredients or fruits, as they contain high concentrations of antioxidants.
