China wins third gold medal at 2024 Olympics

Chinese athlete Xie Yu wins the Olympic competition in 10-meter air pistol shooting, according to the competition results.
The representative of the PRC overtook Italian Federico Nilo Maldini in a fierce battle. While the Chinese shooter scored 240.9 points in the final, his opponent's result was only 0.9 points lower.
Xie and Maldini significantly distanced themselves from the rest of the competitors. Italian shooter Paolo Monna won the bronze medal but lagged behind his compatriot Maldini by 21.4 points. Ukrainian athletes did not compete in this discipline.
The Chinese team secured their second "gold" in shooting. The day before, Huang Yuting and Sheng Lihao triumphed in the 10-meter air rifle mixed event. Chinese athletes will attempt to continue their dominance in this discipline in the women's 10-meter air pistol event.
