Binance considering the possibility of full exit from Russia - WSJ
The world's largest cryptocurrency exchange, Binance, is considering the possibility of a complete exit from the Russian Federation, according to The Wall Street Journal.
The edition claims that the company is reassessing its business in Russia, including the possibility of a complete exit from what was once an important market.
"All options are on the table, including a full exit," a Binance spokesperson said.
Additionally, according to the publication, the world's largest cryptocurrency exchange is assisting Russians in moving money abroad despite statements, including those regarding compliance with Western sanctions. Later, Binance restricted peer-to-peer trading involving Russian banks.
Binance's operations in Russia
The US Department of Justice is investigating Binance's involvement in assisting Russians in circumventing US sanctions. It is alleged that the world's largest cryptocurrency exchange helped transfer money to Russian citizens.
