Biden wins internal party elections in Nevada
U.S. President Joe Biden wins the presidential primary in Nevada, reports Voice of America.
Biden won 89% of the vote among Democratic voters.
As for Trump, his victory in the primaries in this state is very likely. The fact is that former U.S. Ambassador to the United Nations Nikki Haley, who is also a Republican favorite, came in second, losing out to the "none of the above candidates" box. Haley received only 32% of the vote.
The question of Trump will be decided on Thursday when the state Republican Party holds its caucuses (meetings of supporters). Although the Republican primary was also held on Tuesday, according to Voice of America, the party decided to distribute delegates to the party convention from the state through caucuses.
Why were the caucuses needed
The fact is that Nevada Republicans decided to ignore the results of Tuesday's primary, where Trump was not on the ballot. Instead, the state Republican Party decided to award its delegate votes to the winner of the caucuses to be held on Thursday night.
