The risk of a full-scale war in the Middle East is growing. US President Joe Biden stated that it should be avoided, according to Sky News.
According to the report, Biden stated that he would hold talks with Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, though he did not provide any details on the timing of these discussions.
Additionally, the US president avoided answering a question about what topics the leaders would discuss.
"I'll tell you what I say to him when I talk to him," Biden said.
When asked whether a full-scale war in the Middle East could be avoided, he emphasized the need for it.
"It has to be. We really have to avoid it," the American president responded.
Sky News notes that the US is a steadfast ally of Israel, but the country has repeatedly said it wants to avoid escalation in the Middle East.
