Biden and Trump agree to debate with specific rules
The headquarters of US presidential candidates Joe Biden and Donald Trump have agreed on the rules of the first election debate, reports CNN.
It is reported that Biden and Trump will speak without drafts and will be present in the CNN studio audience (this channel is the organizer of the first debate - ed.) It is also interesting that the candidates have agreed to speak on a single podium, but their places will be determined by a coin toss.
During the speech, the microphone will be turned on only for the candidate who is speaking at that moment. They will not be allowed to take props or pre-written notes on stage - they will only be given a pen, a notebook, and a bottle of water.
In addition, there will be no audience in the hall, and the debate will last 90 minutes with two commercial breaks. During the commercials, neither Trump nor Biden will be able to communicate with representatives of their campaigns.
"But, as in the past, the moderators will use all tools at their disposal to enforce timing and ensure a civilized discussion," CNN said.
Presidential elections in the United States
On November 5 this year, the next presidential election is scheduled in the United States. The main candidates are the current US President Joe Biden and Donald Trump, who was president until 2020.
However, according to US media reports, Biden may withdraw his candidacy from the election. Instead, he will allegedly propose Michelle Obama, the wife of former President Barack Obama.
Donald Trump is also demanding that the current President of the United States, Joe Biden, undergo a drug test before their joint debate.
