On your back
Neuroscientist and health expert Dorsey Standish revealed that this position is widely recognized as supportive, as it helps maintain the natural alignment of the spine and reduces pressure on the joints.
Additionally, sleeping on your back with your arms at your sides can help avoid shoulder and neck pain.
However, keep in mind that sleeping on your back may not be the optimal choice if you have breathing issues. Standish notes that sleeping on your back can cause airway narrowing or blockage, leading to snoring or sleep apnea.

Side sleeping
Sleeping on your side is a healthy choice, particularly because this position aids digestion and can reduce snoring.
Sleeping on the left side is often recommended to improve heart health and reduce acid reflux.
Using a supportive pillow under the head and neck, as well as between the knees, can help keep the spine in alignment.
