From July 26 to August 12, a special astrological period known as the Lion's Gate will take place. Its peak will be August 8, when the most powerful energy flows of the year will activate, reports astrologer Kateryna Solovyova.
According to her, it is precisely during this time that a new planetary cycle begins, which facilitates positive transformations, inner changes, the harmonization of life, and opens up new opportunities for development.
Why the Lion's Gate has special significance
As Solovyova explained, the history of this period originates from Ancient Egypt and is associated with the brightest star in the night sky – Sirius.
Two weeks before the Nile flood and the beginning of the new year, the simultaneous rising of the Sun, which symbolized the power of the pharaoh, and Sirius, which was considered a symbol of divine forces, occurred. Two weeks later, the star would already rise before the Sun — this very phenomenon is called the heliacal rising.
As the astrologer notes, archaeologists found evidence of the cult of Sirius on an ivory tablet in Abydos, dated to the time of the First Dynasty of Egypt (3000–2853 BCE). This star is also mentioned in the Avesta, in astrological fragments of Zoroaster, and was used in the prognostic practices of the ancient Germans and Romans.
What the Lion's Gate means
According to Solovyova, the period between the cosmic and heliacal rising of Sirius received the name Lion's Gate, because during this time the Sun is in the sign of Leo.
"Astrologically, it is precisely then that a special light flow opens, which gives a new impulse for the evolution of the Earth and all living things for the next year," she explained.
In her opinion, people who are in harmony with themselves can feel inner changes, move to a new level of awareness, and receive a push for personal development.
At the same time, the astrologer advises during this period to avoid negative emotions, resentment, apathy, and self-doubt, to pay more attention to one's physical and emotional state, and not to sink into destructive experiences.
What to pay attention to before August 12
According to Solovyova, the Lion's Gate helps highlight the most important areas of a person's life and show the direction of their future changes.
To understand which specific themes will become key, it is necessary to analyze the individual horoscope, in particular the position of the transiting Sun and its aspects to the natal chart.
"It is precisely in this way that one can see how exactly the path of the strongest transformation will unfold for a particular person, the vector of acquiring boundless opportunities and great changes. This is the beginning of a new cycle in life, when one can very quickly reformat one's life," she noted.
