The Ukrainian Air Forces warned that missiles have been launched toward Ukraine. As a result, an air raid alert was declared overnight on June 2 in several regions of the country, according to the Ukrainian Air Forces.

"Kyiv region, missile threat!" reads the military statement on their channel.

Residents of Kyiv are urged to immediately head to shelters and remain there until the all-clear signal is given.

"Take care of your safety: immediately go to shelters and stay there until the alert ends," channels write.

Shaheds threat remains

Overnight, Russian forces also launched several groups of kamikaze drones targeting Ukraine’s territory. In several regions, alerts were declared due to the threat of Shaheds.

As of 3:00 AM Kyiv time, the following information is available about the movement of hostile UAVs:

  • UAVs in the central part of the Sumy region, heading south/southwest;

  • UAVs in the east of the Chernihiv region, heading south/southwest;

  • UAVs in the southeast of the Dnipropetrovsk region, heading north/northeast.

On the night of June 1, Russia set a new record for the number of drones launched at Ukraine; the Armed Forces of Ukraine counted 472 UAVs.

Additionally, on the night of June 1, Russia carried out another combined strike on Ukraine using drones, ballistic, and cruise missiles. In northern, eastern, and some central regions, air raid alerts lasted over 10 to 13 hours.

Kyiv and the Kyiv region, Zaporizhzhia, Odesa, Zhytomyr, and Kharkiv regions were hit. The Russian attack caused destruction and casualties.
