Ukrainian Minister of Foreign Affairs, Dmytro Kuleba, met with his Italian counterpart, Antonio Tajani, to discuss Ukraine's air defense and more, according to the Ukrainian Foreign Minister's X post.

During the meeting, Kuleba commended Italy's leadership in the G7 and its active and consistent support for Ukraine. The parties discussed steps Rome could take to bolster Ukraine's air defense.

"We are also grateful for Italy’s participation in the recovery of Ukraine and look forward to more projects in this regard. We also discussed the preparations for the first Global Peace Summit and the path toward a just peace in Ukraine through the implementation of Zelenskyy's peace formula," Kuleba added.

Ukraine's air defense

In recent months, amid escalating Russian terrorist shelling, the issue of strengthening Ukraine's air defense has become more acute.

Addressing the leaders of European Union countries, President Volodymyr Zelenskyy urged them to increase assistance to Ukraine to counter the determination of dictator Vladimir Putin. He emphasized the importance of strengthening our air defense with Patriot, IRIS-T, SAMP/T, and NASAMS systems.

The Ukrainian leader noted earlier that the country needs only 25 Patriot systems for full sky protection.
