After Russian tanker crash in Kerch Strait: Latest satellite images
Due to the accident involving Russian oil tankers in the Kerch Strait, large patches of fuel oil have been spotted near Crimea. Satellite images have surfaced online, the Telegram channel "Crimean Wind" reports.
The published images show numerous fuel oil patches in the sea off the coast of Kerch. These radar images were taken last night and reveal dozens of oil stains located several kilometers from the shore.
What happened before
A week ago, due to a severe storm in the Kerch Strait, two Russian tankers, Volgoneft-212 and Volgoneft-239, were involved in an accident. The waves nearly split the tankers in half.
A few days later, another tanker was involved in an accident near the Kavkaz port in the Black Sea. Reports of an oil spill emerged, and information about pollution of the Krasnodar region's coastline was also circulated.
