Russia-Ukraine war: Frontline update as of August 18

As of 10:00 PM on August 18, there have been 133 combat clashes on the front since the start of the day. Ukrainian forces have so far repelled 48 Russian attacks in the Pokrovsk direction, according to the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.
Russian strikes
Today, Russian forces launched one missile strike using two missiles and carried out 55 airstrikes, dropping 102 guided bombs. They also deployed 1,634 kamikaze drones and conducted 3,345 attacks against Ukrainian positions and populated areas.
Frontline updates
In the Northern-Slobozhanskyi and Kursk directions, there were seven clashes with Russian troops, one of which is still ongoing. Russian forces carried out 13 airstrikes, dropped 18 guided bombs, and launched 184 artillery attacks, including eight with multiple rocket launchers.
In the Southern-Slobozhanskyi direction, Russian forces attempted nine assaults in the areas of Vovchansk, Kamyanka, and Ambarne.
In the Kupiansk direction, eight attacks were recorded in the areas of Holubivka, Kupyansk, Petropavlivka, and Zahryzove, with one clash continuing at this time.
In the Lyman direction, Ukrainian defenders repelled 11 assaults in the areas of Ridkodub, Karpivka, and Myrne, as well as towards Drobysheve and Yampil.
In the Siversk direction, Russian forces carried out four assaults in the areas of Serebryanka, Hryhorivka, and Vyiimka.
In the Kramatorsk direction, three attacks took place in the area of Bila Hora, all of which were successfully repelled.
In the Toretsk direction, Ukrainian forces repelled four attacks near Poltavka, Rusyn Yar, Toretsk, and towards Berestok, with no success for the Russian forces.
In the Pokrovsk direction, Russian forces launched 52 attacks since the beginning of the day in the areas of Dorozhne, Fedorivka, Nykanorivka, Mayak, Rodynske, Novoeconomichne, Chervonyi Lyman, Promin, Pokrovsk, Zvirove, Kotlyne, Udachne, Molodetske, Novoukrainka, Volodymyrivka, Dachne, Lysivka, and towards Balahan. Ukrainian defenders repelled 48 assaults, while four clashes are still ongoing. According to preliminary reports, 150 Russian troops were eliminated, including 95 killed outright. In addition, Ukrainian forces destroyed two guns, two UAV command posts, five motorcycles, eight vehicles, and 93 drones.
In the Novopavlivka direction, 10 assaults were repelled in the areas of Novopavlivka, Hrushivske, Filiya, Zirka, Vilne Pole, Maliivka, Ivanivka, Oleksandrohrad, and towards Komyshuvakha, while four clashes are still taking place.
In the Huliaipole direction, Russian forces did not conduct assault operations.
In the Orikhiv direction, Ukrainian defenders repelled two attacks near Kamianske and Novoandriivka, while Russian airstrikes also hit Novoandriivka.
In the Prydniprovskyi direction, eight clashes occurred, with Russian troops attempting to advance towards the Antonivskyi Bridge, the village of Dniprovskе, and around Bilohrudyi Island. Occupiers also struck the Antonivskyi Bridge with unguided rockets.
Russian losses
Over the past day, from August 18 to 19, Russian forces lost 940 soldiers. Ukrainian defenders also destroyed 43 artillery systems, 157 drones, and 116 vehicles. In total, Russian losses since the start of the full-scale invasion have exceeded one million personnel.
